Christian Simonson is an accomplished young man with diverse interests, but his main passion is the sport of Dressage. Christian obtained his student’s pilot license at the age of 15, is an avid mountain biker, downhill skier, and has his open water PADI scuba certification. He recently started college online at the University of Texas,Austin where he is pursuing a degree in Business.

Inspired by his mother’s interest in riding , Christian discovered Dressage at the tender age of six. He quickly became the protégé of USDF Gold Medalist, Gail Hoff Carmona and when, by the age of 13, Christian was ready to start showing at a national level, began training under the tutelage of Olympian, Jan Ebeling in Moorpark, Ca . He subsequently won both the Gold Team medal and Silver Individual medal in the 2016 Adequan/FEI NAYC, and the Silver Individual medal at the 2017 Adequan/FEI NAYC. Additionally, he was awarded the USDF Bronze and Silver medal that year.

In 2018 Christian was invited to join the prestigious training program of Olympic Dressage competitor, and silver medalist Adrienne Lyle, and now spends his summers in Greenwood Village, CO and his winters training in Wellington, FL . After securing three competitive horses from Helgstrand Dressage, Christian was ready to show again and he didn’t disappoint.The season started out with bringing home the first ever YR Team Bronze medal after being selected to represent the US on the Young Rider European Tour at Hagen, Germany ‘s Future Champions Nations Cup as well as a second place individual finish.Once back stateside it was off to representRegion 7 at the Adequan/FEI NAYC in Traverse City, Michigan where he won triple Gold medals in the FEI YR Team, Individual and Freestyle with his mountZeaball Diawind shattering previously set records.It was then on to Wayne, Il where at Lamplight Equestrian park he became the 2021 US Young Rider Champion. 

In 2022 Christian and his new mount “Son of a Lady” were invited to represent the USA at CHIO Aachen where they ended up on the podium with a third place in the Musical Kur with a 75% after having three good finishes at “Future Champions” at Hof Kasselman two weeks before.
